  • ITMO’s Robotics Team Wins Silver at World Robot Olympiad 2019

    The 2019 World Robot Olympiad, an international robotics competition for talented school and university students from over 70 countries, has just come to a close in the city of Győr, Hungary. Led by coach Igor Lositsky, ITMO University whizzes took second place, surpassing more than 30 teams in the Senior High age category. They presented their project LEGO Education Helper, a smart table that cleans itself.

  • ITMO Robotics Team Wins Gold at World Robot Olympiad 2018 in Thailand

    It’s a wrap for this year’s World Robot Olympiad (WRO-2018), an international competition for talented school and university students from more than 60 countries, and a good one at that for ITMO University’s robotics team, who took first prize in the Senior High age group. The team was led by coach Igor Lositskiy. In total, Russian teams have claimed three medals in all age groups of the Open category.

  • ITMO Robotics Team Gets Gold at World Robot Olympiad 2017

    The World Robot Olympiad (WRO-2017) has just come to a close in Costa Rica. The international competition for talented school and university students involves participants from more than 60 countries. ITMO’s team of school students, led by coach Igor Lositskiy, has won the gold medal in the Open category’s Senior age group. Russian teams have also claimed gold medals in all three age groups of the Regular category (as well as both silver and bronze in the Elementary age group), the bronze medal in the Robot Football competition and another gold medal in the Open category.

  • Forester Soon to Hit the World Robot Olympiad in Costa Rica

    ITMO University’s high school students’ robotics team has made it into World Robot Olympiad, which will be held in November in Costa Rica. The main theme of this year's competition is sustainability, creating sustainabots that can change our world without affecting it, integrating environmental, social and economic aspects. So, the special team trained at ITMO will show the world their Forester robot, which can automatically monitor the environmental status of forests. In addition to "Forester", three more Russian robots will go to Costa Rica.

  • ITMO Team Wins First Place at National Robotics Olympiad

    From June 23 to 25 the final stage of the Russian Olympiad in Programming of Intelligent Robotic Systems was held for the fourth time in the city of Innopolis (Republic of Tatarstan). The Olympiad features contestants from all over the country and thus serves as the Russian qualification round for the World Robot Olympiad. ITMO University’s team and their forest pathologist robot Forester secured the first place in one of the competition’s categories.

  • Young Engineers from Russia Leave to Conquer the World Robot Olympiad

    Robots can behave like humans and even more — they are now able to solve difficult tasks like picking up waste in inaccessible places. The slogan for the World Robot Olympiad of 2016 is «Rap the scrap!», as its participants are going to present robots for sorting, processing and disposing of waste.
