What’s so special about Stickerum
Many print shops sell ready-made stickers packs. But if someone wants to obtain a certain set of stickers, then the only option becomes the "do it yourself" option. This means that they will need to find images, place them on a sheet, draw the borders around each sticker and find a printing house that would agree to print sticker sheets. ITMO students have invented a tool which simplifies this task to a minimum. With @stickerumbot, you can choose a unique set of your favourite stickers and order it in just five minutes.
Idea
In October Vitaliy Guryn and Egor Berezhnoi participated in the VK Hackathon.
"Our team took second place for the most creative team name, the organizers handed us a set of lapel pins, magnets and a sheet of stickers from VK. That's when I thought that it would be great if everyone could order whichever stickers they like." - explained Vitaliy.
In just a couple of weeks, the students made a working prototype and could order the first set.
How it works
With the help of a Telegram bot, users choose which stickers they wish to see on their sheet. As of now, each sticker sheet can accommodate 12 stickers. Then the bot redirects users to a secure payment form on the Yandex.Money (Яндекс.Деньги) platform. After the payment is complete, a program puts the pictures on a sheet and adds cutting borders. This is also a separate component of the system.
The team working on the project is made up of three ITMO students: Vitaliy Guryn (third year, Faculty of Laser and Light Engineering), Egor Berezhnoi (second year, Faculty of Information Technology and Programming) and Pavel Zverev (fourth year, Faculty of Laser and Light Engineering). Vitaliy is responsible for developing the bot and is in charge of the server. Egor created the script that processes the finished set and made the integration with Yandex.Money. Paul communicates with partners, engages in market analysis and maintains the team’s pages on social media.
How to make an order
To create a sticker sheet, you need to write to the @stickerumbot on Telegram and send it your favourite stickers. Printing and delivery can be paid for by card or with Yandex.Money. The delivery time depends on the amount of orders, but usually it shouldn’t take more than a week. The more orders they receive, the faster they will send them for printing. The complete sticker sheet will be delivered directly into the customer’s hands.
Orders are currently delivered only within Russia, but international delivery will soon become available.
