All universities are evaluated based on three indicators: conditions for the acquisition of high-quality education, level of demand for their graduates among employers, and level of research activity. The agency’s specialists evaluate statistical and scientometric indicators, as well as results of surveys held among academic experts, students, alumni, and employers.
The indicator holding the most weight is a university’s education quality: it is based on such criteria as the level of teaching, international integration, availability of resources, and demand among prospective students. ITMO University is in the top-10 for all of these indicators.
ITMO was also ranked fifth in terms of its level of research activity. This indicator is based on the evaluation of a university’s innovative activity, scientific accomplishments, and innovative infrastructure.
The third indicator is the level of demand for a university’s graduates among employers. This looks at the university’s collaboration with the industry and the success of graduates’ careers. This is evaluated based on the number of graduates holding senior positions at Russia’s largest companies, graduates’ average salary, and employers’ opinion on the quality of graduates’ applied knowledge and skills.
