St. Petersburg Russia: A Stunning Global Paradise

While it is a lowly-hyped global destination, St. Petersburg remains a stunning tourist hub! Not only is the city endowed with a broad array of unique attraction sites, but also with a diverse cultural center and home to the world's renowned artefacts. St. Petersburg welcomes you to a beautiful, well-planned, and clean environment, coupled with multiple stunning sceneries. The second-largest city in Russia, and arguably the most beautiful destination in the country is strategically located at the mouth of the Neva River, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. It spans across the Northwest Federal District, in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation. Its federal importance to Russia cannot go unnoticed, ranging from being an administrative center to the best tourist attraction destination in the country.

A home to ITMO University, one of the most reputable and highly ranked higher institutions of learning in Russia; St. Petersburg harbors a myriad unparalleled features that meet the expectations and needs of everyone. In fact, it presents a commendable public sphere and affordable living conditions that accommodate anyone and everyone. Notably, the environment is not only liveable but also sustainable, and often has something for everyone, courtesy of excellent and continuous work by the city administration under the governorship of Alexander Beglov.

If you have never visited St. Petersburg, perhaps, time is quite opportune to take a leap and have the pleasurable moment of a lifetime! Indeed, Victor Hugo was right when he contended that "You can resist an invading army; you cannot resist an idea whose time has come." First, the State Hermitage Museum welcomes you to a unique and spectacular scenery. The museum is characterized by classic architecture, lavish decorations, and one of the world's most extensive collection of paintings.

Peterhof Palace is another remarkable imperial palace situated strategically off St. Petersburg city and overlooks the Gulf of Finland. Inside the castle is the must-see Alexandra Park, featuring eye-catching scenery and landscape, among other outstanding artefacts.

Additionally, the city offers visitors a lifetime opportunity to engage in entertaining activities, including boat tours, visiting Catherine Palace and gardens in a small group. As a student at ITMO University, I am spoilt for choice, primarily given the privileges accorded to me by both the university and the city. Although I have visited the stunning destinations mentioned in this article, I am yet to accomplish my mission of touring the whole city, attributable to the extensive nature of the city. My one-year stint at ITMO University, Russia, has been exhilarating, and I'm looking forward to a lengthy stay. Indeed, all dreams are valid, marked Lupita Nyong'o, the Kenyan-Mexican actress and an Oscar winner for '12 Years a Slave.'
