There’s no need to struggle with formatting and design anymore, as there are many easy-to-use tools: basically, all you need to do is choose a template, customize it a little, then fill it out, and your shining new CV is ready. Here’s a list of our favorite websites and apps.
This CV builder is simple, minimalistic, and easy-to-use. A perfect tool for creating a classic resume not overloaded with infographics — it’s just for essentials. CV Maker is user-friendly and it doesn’t take long to fill a template out, plus you can pick out of three file formats and add your own sections. However, note that the templates are standard and only six styles are available for free.
This is a website for compiling a CV in a really short time: you only need to enter your info. It’ll work best for those who like to keep it traditional. Resume offers you 12 templates to choose from and also includes tips on creating a CV, writing cover letters, looking for a job, and so on. It’s a great user-friendly tool, although there are a couple of disadvantages: all templates are black-and-white and similar to each other.
Canva is much more customizable than the previously listed options. You can choose among hundreds of styles, colors, fonts, and icons. Most of its features are available for free. Some minor elements are only available for premium users, but if you need them, then you can gain free access during the first month of use. Among other things, there are four file formats to choose from and a very user-friendly interface.
This builder is mostly suitable for young specialists, as it focuses on the user’s knowledge and achievements: you can attach your certificates, essays, videos, and pictures in various formats. It allows you to visualize your path and illustrate your background.
This website allows you to pick one of over 20 templates, customize its color and sections, edit it in just one click later on, and not only download the result but also publish it on the web. However, keep in mind that the free version is limited to one-page CVs. Other than a CV builder, the I can choose service provides its users with lots of great advice on all career-related topics (in Russian).
We’re all familiar with these tools and yes, they are also suitable for CV creation. With their help, you can choose from a variety of templates and edit them right on the spot without having to figure out any new external programs.
