I Am a Professional is a flagship project of the platform Russia – the Land of Opportunities, which is supported by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

This season’s theme is Study and Work in Russia, focusing on education, science, and industry. The competition’s general partner is Sberbank.

I Am a Professional is open to students of various specializations, including engineering, humanities, natural sciences, pedagogy, agriculture, and medicine – this year, the contest will cover a total of 71 subject fields. This season’s additions are Project Management and Digital Project Management & Innovation Studies.

All participants who successfully pass the selection round will gain access to a career platform with job listings they can apply to. Earlier, this opportunity was only available to winners and final round participants who managed to score above zero.

The competition evaluates both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, as the tasks are designed to be close to real conditions, allowing participants to try their hand at their future trade. All tasks are developed by experts from leading universities and major Russian companies.

“ITMO University always contributes to the competition: here, students from different universities come together to experience the challenges of their future field. Those who prove themselves will get to participate in the educational forum It’s Your Call! – with lectures by experts from major companies, workshops by world programming champions, tours of well-known companies, and a case championship,” shared the competition’s organizers from ITMO.

Medalists and winners of the competition will be able to enroll at ITMO without entrance exams to Master’s or PhD programs, as well as receive 100,000-300,000-ruble prizes. This year, 37 medalists and 95 finalists of the seventh season entered ITMO’s Master’s programs.

All interested will be able to register until November 12. The competition is open to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist’s students of Russian universities. The registration form and updates about the contest can be found on its official website (in Russian).

Naturally, ITMO students can also take part in the competition, with 109 of them named winners last season – one of the top results in St. Petersburg.
