Wake Up: You’re a Grownup Now

We all can relate to the struggles of growing up and trying to fit into the world of responsible adults. At this exhibition, every adult in development will feel understood: on display are works – graphics, painting, ceramics – by Russian artists exploring adulthood, childhood, and everything in between.

On the big screen: The Lady Vanishes (1938)

Solve the mystery of an old lady disappearing on a train from Tyrol to London in this spy thriller by Alfred Hitchcock. The film will be screened in English with Russian subtitles.

Saturday, April 19

Charity vinyl market

Apart from, of course, hundreds of hip and rare vinyls – provided by local stores and the 12in project – the market will feature themed lectures and, on April 19, a live concert by the illo.trio jazz project. All proceedings will go to the Perspektivy foundation supporting people with disabilities. Even if you don’t own a record player, come to the event to enjoy the atmosphere and some live music!

Spring Above the Waves

Greet the spring dressed in pastel colors, light fabrics, and sea- and spring-inspired outfits (as per the dress code) at the Spring Above the Waves folk festival. On the program are dancing workshops by HAPPY KELPIE, a local morris dancing group, and folk bands performing music from around the world: Čarodějnic, The Ragamuffin Children, and Ceol na Mara. If you are a part of a dancing collective (or student club!), state that when messaging the community for tickets to get an additional discount.

Exhibition: Picasso – an artist among poets

This is St. Pete’s first Picasso exhibition since 2018 and it aims to highlight the connection between the artist’s works and classic literature, putting him in a global cultural context. The exhibited works will be accompanied by multimedia content that'll truly bring them to life. Also on display will be homages to the great artist by Mihail Chemiakin, a widely acclaimed artist himself.

TheatreHD: Cavalleria rusticana 

Franco Zeffirelli was one of the most significant directors of the 20th century – and next week, you’ll have the chance to see one of his works, the film opera Cavalleria rusticana (1982) starring Plácido Domingo and Elena Obraztsova. Experience opera like never before at Rodina Cinema. 

Wednesday, April 23 

Piano evening: The Last Three Sonatas

This concert, held in honor of Joseph Brodsky’s 85th anniversary of birth, will feature three sonatas that happened to be the last pieces composed by their creators – Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert. Each sonata will be performed by Elizaveta Leonskaya, a renowned pianist from Vienna.
