If it is music that is more to your liking, and you are always fond of making new discoveries, you should definitely come to the Global Music Fest at the Usupovsky Park; at this annual event, one can enjoy the diversity of modern music and cultural traditions of the many different countries of the world, as well as experimental novelties such as Kennian folk, New Zealand rap, Aluetian tango, and a lot more! Quite an original way to spend one of the few warm weekends of St. Petersburg’s short autumn will be going to the nearby small town of Shlisselburg to take part in the Fortress Day festival. The two-day event will take place at the site of the historic Oreshek (“chestnut”) fortress, which is located on a small island in the dazzling Ladoga Lake; its program will include different reenactment shows and workshops, musical performances, guided tours, and a medieval-style fair - just note that it may be a lot colder on the lakeside, so dress warm and don’t forget to bring an umbrella in case the weather lets you down!
Lastly, this weekend, the All-Russian Colours Festival will be held at the Kirovets stadium - a grand event full of unbridled joy, music, dancing, and dry paints!
