The Wild Eight (2019)

The Wild Eight, created by Yakutia-based studio Fntastic, is a plot-driven survival game that follows a group of plane crash survivors who find themselves in the wilderness of Alaska. Stranded in the middle of nowhere, players must find their way out, safe and sound, while dealing with the dangers that lurk in the dark. Co-op or solo, you have to do your best to live another day and unravel the mysteries around you.

Loop Hero (2021)

The brainchild of Four Quarters, Loop Hero is a blend of a roguelike, an RPG, a CCG, and a city-builder that is brimming with the charm of pixel art and chiptune. As an evil lich throws the world into a timeless loop, your mission is to navigate the darkness to save the world. But there are a few catches… You can’t control the character directly, but rather employ magical cards to place terrains, places of interest, and enemies along your way. And if you die, you’ll lose 70% of your loot – and have to start over.

Black Book (2021)

Black Book is a somber RPG by Morteshka overtly inspired by Slavic folklore and Komi mythology. In it, you take on the role of Vasilisa, a young sorceress who seeks to activate a demonic artifact to revive her loved one. Her journey takes her through the landscapes of Cherdynsky Uyezd, where she completes different quests, encounters townsfolk and mythical creatures, and confronts evil forces in card-based battles – all in the hopes of reuniting with her lost love.

Torn Away (2022)

Torn Away by Perelesoq shows the horrors of WWII through the eyes of a child, namely a 10-year-old girl named Asya who tries to find her way home from a labor camp. Apart from the heart-wrecking narrative, original soundtrack, and hand-drawn aesthetics, the game, though primarily a walking simulator, offers a diversity of gameplay elements, from quests and mini-games to stealth missions and first-person scenes.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader (2023)

Developed by Owlcat Games, the same studio behind the Pathfinder series, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a turn-based RPG set in the Warhammer 40k universe. The game places you in the Koronus Expanse, where you are to explore the ill-chartered and deadly region, assemble your party, make conscious, thought-out moves, and compete with your foes in turn-based combats.
