• ITMO’s International Council On University’s 2030 Development Strategy

  The 13th session of ITMO University’s International Council took place on November 12 via a Zoom call that spanned 17 time zones across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America. After months of navigating adversity and working remotely, the members of the Council embraced this opportunity to meet and discuss some of the key aspects of ITMO’s strategy for 2021-30, as well as highlight some of the silver linings of these unprecedented times.

  What is the proper way to conduct market analysis? How does one come up with a market strategy? Upon entering the market, many fledgling entrepreneurs fail to come up with a thorough strategy and disregard many instruments that would help them to succeed. Eventually, the ignorance of simple concepts can lead to bankruptcy, believes Aleksander Alkhov, founder of the CourseBurg.ru educational service and specialist in marketing and promotion of companies on national and international markets. At a recent workshop for ITMO’s Future Technologies accelerator, the expert expanded on budding entrepreneurs’ typical mistakes and spoke about the first steps for promoting one’s product.

• ITMO Joins New Foresight Project on Innovations

  Which sectors of the economy will be at the forefront of introducing relevant technologies like AI and data analysis? Which regulatory actions are necessary in order to make Russian innovative enterprises more efficient? ITMO University has recently become part of a workgroup on forecasting the implementation process of advanced digital and intelligent industrial technologies, robotic systems, new materials and construction methods, Big Data processing systems, machine learning and AI as envisioned by the Scientific and Technological Development Strategy of the Russian Federation. ITMO.NEWS spoke to Natalya Lukovnikova, head of the Center for Science and Technology Foresight, about this new project and the university’s contribution to it.
