ITMO University and Government of Moscow’s Department for Education and Science to Launch IT Classes in City’s Schools
Isaac Kalina, a minister in the Government of Moscow and head of the latter’s Department for Education and Science, and ITMO University rector Vladimir Vasilyev have signed a road map on the implementation of the project “IT classes in Moscow schools”. Earlier, the initiative was put forward by the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin. The classes, which aim to introduce school students to modern information technologies, are to be launched starting from September 1, 2019.

ITMO University and NEC Corporation to Cooperate on Development of Infocommunication Technologies
ITMO and a leading Japanese telecom company NEC have signed a cooperation agreement, which stipulates that a state-of-the-art laboratory and data processing center will open at the University. The new institutions will focus on the development of infocommunication technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and the Internet of Things (IoT), including the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). BizCycle: Moving Towards Comfortable Biking Infrastructure on Russian-Finnish Border
How to create a bike-friendly environment in the border regions of Russia and Finland, help cycling tourists effectively plan their itineraries, and foster the development of local businesses that would cater for such travelers? These are some of the questions in the center of the BizCycle international project. Having kicked off in November this year, it is now being implemented as part of the South-East Finland – Russia Cross-Border Cooperation program, with ITMO as the leading partner. The university’s specialists will work on the project together with representatives of Finnish companies, the Committee for Tourism of the Leningrad Oblast, and the Tourism Information Center. The objectives and stages of BizCycle’s implementation were recently discussed at a briefing organized for St. Petersburg’s cycling community. ITMO.NEWS reports on the keynotes of the meeting.

ITMO University Expands Partnership in Technology Entrepreneurship with Krasnoyarsk Krai
Yesterday, on May 31, ITMO University was visited by a delegation headed by Viktor Tolokonsky, governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai. During a meeting with the university’s Rector Vladimir Vasilyev, the parties agreed to the creation of collaborative projects in the field of technology entrepreneurship aimed at systematic development of innovation infrastructure in the region. In June, ITMO University and the Krai administration plan to develop a roadmap for their future relationship.

Video360Production Becomes Samsung Russia’s Official Partner
ITMO's Video360Production project has signed a cooperation agreement with Samsung Russia. Together with Russia Today and ECM VR Films Festival, Video360Project is now an official partner of the Korean company in the field of VR content. Now, videos made by the team from ITMO University are available in the Samsung VR service.
