  • ITMO University in Bronze League of Round University Ranking

    RUR World University Rankings evaluates the performance of 829 of the world’s leading higher education institutions from 80 countries. Compared to last year, ITMO University went up 85 places to 360th, moving up from the Copper to the Bronze League. In 2019, ITMO University was placed in the Diamond League among Russian universities.

  • ITMO University Gains Positions in THE University Impact Rankings

    THE University Impact Rankings is the world’s only ranking to assess universities based on their contributions to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participating universities must contribute to at least four SDGs, including the 17th – development of global partnerships. This year, ITMO University was included in four categories, all named after the corresponding goals: no poverty (SDG 1), industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9), sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), and partnerships for the goals (SDG 17). In the general ranking, ITMO was included among the global top 400 and received numbered positions in all four categories; in one category, the university was ranked among the top 100.

    The RAEX agency has, for the first time, ranked Russian universities based on their influence. The list features the higher education institutions that hold the most weight in forming the country’s elite, as well as among the scientific community, youth, and internet audiences. The defining feature of this research is that as per the agency’s working approach, it is based on objective statistics from Russian and international resources.

  • QS WUR by Subject 2020: ITMO Tops Russian Electrical & Electronic Engineering Ranking, Climbs Further in Others

    Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the world’s foremost authorities on the assessment of higher education, has published its annual list of university rankings by subject. This year, ITMO University was included in seven subject rankings, improving on last year’s six. The St. Petersburg-based university has been named the top Russian university in the Electrical & Electronic Engineering ranking for the second year in a row and was also included on the ranking’s global top-250.

  • ITMO University Goes Up 18 Positions in Times Higher Education Emerging Economies Rankings

    ITMO University has been ranked among the top 40 universities in countries with emerging economies as part of the Times Higher Education Emerging Economies University Rankings-2020. The full ranking was published on February 18, 2020. The St. Petersburg-based university has strengthened its position and rose up to the 35th spot after placing 53rd last year. All in all, the latest THE ranking includes more than 400 universities.

  • QS EECA University Rankings: ITMO Enters Top 13%

    According to the QS EECA University Rankings 2019/20, ITMO University has once again improved its standing, rising by 10 places and ranking 46th. Every year, QS experts identify the top universities in the developing countries of Europe and Central Asia. This time, 14 Russian universities made it to the top-50.

  • QS World University Rankings: ITMO University Enters Global Top-500

    Today, on June 19, the 2020 QS World University Rankings have been unveiled. The ranking is published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a British company specializing in education and studies around the world. ITMO University has once again improved its position in the ranking, entering the global top-500. In the making of its latest ranking, QS has assessed 1,620 higher education institutions all over the world, with 1,001 universities from 82 countries making it on the final list.

  • ITMO Student Niyaz Nigmatullin Named Among Tatarstan’s Top 50 People in IT

    The ranking was unveiled by the news outlet Business Online on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of Tatarstan’s IT-capital Innopolis. As its creators note, the list includes those who define the successes of the IT industry. Niyaz Nigmatullin, a tutor at ITMO University’s Information Technologies and Programming Faculty and two-time ICPC world champion, was included in the top-50. This ITMO graduate is currently head of methodology at Innopolis University’s olympiad training school, where school students from all over Russia prepare for national and international competitions.

  • “Expert” Analytical Center Subject Rankings: ITMO University Becomes 2019 Leader in Computer Science, Engineering and Chemistry

    Today, the new subject rankings for scientific productivity by the “Expert” analytical center have been published. ITMO University retained its leadership position in the field of Computer Science (including the Artificial Intelligence subject area), and also took the lead in chemistry, chemical technologies and management among Russian universities. The rankings focus on research work at universities and the quality of publications.
