  • ITMO Scientists Win the First Blue Sky Research Innovative Scientific Projects Contest

    The award ceremony of the experimental innovative scientific projects competition Blue Sky Research – Artificial Intelligence in Science was held in St. Petersburg on December 13. The contest’s prize pool amounted to 15 million rubles. Thirty young scientists from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, and Krasnoyarsk made it to the finals. Their teams worked on interdisciplinary projects combining artificial intelligence, chemistry, and synthetic biology. Among them were four teams from ITMO University.

  • Think Like an AI: ITMO Students Create a Game Where You Guess Words Using Artificial Intelligence Logic

    According to the rules, the word changes every day. In its first week, the game was downloaded by 31,000 individual users, while the project’s Telegram channel gained two thousand new subscribers. Version 2.0, released just a couple of days ago, was played 10 thousand times in the 24 hours since launch. Why is the game so popular, what inspired its creation, and what type of feedback are they getting – we discussed all of this with Michil Egorov, a fourth-year Bachelor’s student at ITMO’s Faculty of Infocommunication Technologies, team member at the Learning Analytics Center , and the game’s lead designer.

  • ITMO Launches State-Supported Continuous Professional Development Courses in AI

    In collaboration with University 20.35, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and other universities, ITMO has launched online courses for professional training in AI which will allow ITMO students, graduates, and staff to learn more about analytics, predictive modeling, and AI architecture. A major part of each student’s tuition fee (up to 85,000 rubles) will be covered by the government.

  • ITMO and Almetyevsk State Oil Institute to Train Specialists in AI and Biotechnology

    ITMO University and Almetyevsk State Oil Institute are launching a new Master’s program AI in Biotechnology Systems, which will train future middle and senior specialists in biotechnology. During the training, students will learn to solve biotechnological problems using information technologies and big data, as well as to apply these technologies to produce even more efficient treatments. The corporate partner of the program is Tatneft.
