  • ITMO Pre-Acceleration Program in 2019: 50+ Projects, 11 Expert Coaches, 5 Million Rubles in Funding

    In the past year, ITMO University has redefined its approach to acceleration programs for hi-tech startups. A pre-acceleration program was launched with the goal of assisting scientists and tech enthusiasts who have ideas but are far from implementing them in practice or creating an actual product. Nevertheless, three projects have already gone the distance from ideas to full-on contracts with investors, raising over five million rubles in total. ITMO.NEWS got in touch with Alexey Solomatin, the head of the ITMO Accelerator, to find out what he thought of the past year, which achievements of these 12 months he considers the most important, and what he’s got in plans for the future.

  • Resident of ITMO Technopark Included in Top-3 of SLUSH Festival

    The SLUSH festival, one of the biggest startup events in Europe, has recently ended in Helsinki, Finland. Several of ITMO University’s Technopark residents took part in the event. For them, it was an opportunity to present their projects, attract potential investors and familiarize themselves with their counterparts’ work. A total of three companies collaborating with ITMO University received awards from the jury.   • What Russian Startups Bring to Japan

    The St. Petersburg Expoforum is currently hosting the 12th St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum. During the first day of the event, a roundtable discussion was held on the topic of Russian-Japanese economic relations. The discussion was organized by ITMO University, ITMO Highpark, and the investment service SAMI.   • ITMO Technopark and Highpark Launch Pre-Accelerator Program

    ITMO Technopark launched the Pre-accelerator educational program for St. Petersburg entrepreneurs. The course was created in collaboration with ITMO Highpark for the purpose of helping startupers in the early stages. In the course of three months, its participants will be testing their ideas, developing business models, finding consumers and creating the MVP, a minimum viable product for entering the market.   • ITMO Technopark Resident Cerevrum Receives Its Second Million-Dollar Investment

    In 2016 the company Cerevrum Inc, which creates VR-based educational content for the corporate sector, attracted one million USD in investments from the co-founder of Oculus. Three years later, the company has now been granted another million by the Russian venture firm LETA Capital. A year earlier, Cerevrum became a resident of ITMO University’s Technopark; just recently, the company bought out its 7% share from the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF).   • ITMO Signs Collaboration Agreement With Dassault Systemes

    On June 5, representatives of ITMO University and Dassault Systemes met to sign a collaboration agreement and discuss new areas of cooperation. As a result, teams of ITMO startups will get an opportunity to make use of the company’s software, which holds leadership positions in the field of design, 3D digital mock-up, and marketing.
