  • Researcher from University College London on Building a Career Abroad and Networking

    Daniil Nikitichev, a graduate of ITMO’s Faculty of Laser and Light Engineering, has been living and doing research in the UK for the past 12 years. His current work at the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering of University College London (Top 7 in the QS World Rankings) is dedicated to developing a 3D printer that would be able to print soft models for training medical specialists.   • Summer Bridge Scholarship by ITMO’s Russian-French Lab: Join an Interdisciplinary Project and Get Your First Scientific Paper Published

    Right after finishing their summer exams, students from ITMO and other universities will have the opportunity to participate in the Summer Bridge Scholarship, a paid internship at ITMO University’s Russian-French Laboratory of Hybrid Crystal Nanophotonics. The organizers will choose a total of 15 interns (Bachelor’s and Master’s students), who will work on fundamental and applied interdisciplinary scientific projects, from developing new types of nanoparticles to creating nanomaterials for long-term storage of foodstuffs and drug delivery. The internship will last for 2.5 months, after which all participants will get a one-time money reward. Other advantages include opportunities to get your article published, experience of working as part of an international team, and enrolling in a joint Russian-French PhD program.     ITMO graduate Denis Evseev is currently working in London at Arrowgrass, a major hedge fund, in the Quantitative Development Department, where he writes programs for traders and portfolio managers. Having moved to Great Britain, he joined a Master’s program at City, University of London, and had tens of job interviews at major banks and international companies in the course of his studies.
