ITMO Wins Gold at ICPC Finals
The final results of the International Collegiate Programming Contest – ICPC World Finals Moscow have been announced. ITMO University was represented by the Standard Deviation team – this time, Gennady Korotkevich, a PhD student of ITMO University and one of the most prominent programmers in the world, took part in the contest as a coach, not a team member.

Russian Team Takes Three Gold Medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2021)
Like last year, the 33rd International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2021) was held online and brought together a record number of participants: 300 school students from 88 countries. The Russian team took home one silver and three gold medals and became one of the competition’s leaders alongside the teams from the USA, China, and Singapore. The team was headed by Andrey Stankevich, an associate professor at ITMO’s Faculty of Information Technologies and Programming.

The hackathon aims to promote tourism in Moscow. This year, among its partners were SberBank, Domodedovo Airport, Rosatom, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, and others. The grand prize was 1.5 million rubles.

Nikolay Budin became a winner in the Code category. In total, over 20,000 students from different parts of Eurasia competed in six categories. The award ceremony took place at Yota Arena in Moscow.

ITMO University Team Comes Second in Online Stage of ICPC Northern Eurasia Finals
On December 13, the online stage of the ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) Northern Eurasia competition took place. The team from ITMO University placed second and will now go on to participate in the offline stage of the competition. Its ultimate prize will be the opportunity to represent their university in the finals of the international student programming competition ICPC-2021.
