The teams are coached by Andrey Stankevich, an associate professor at ITMO’s Faculty of Information Technologies and Programming, and Gennady Korotkevich, the most awarded programmer in the world and a PhD student at ITMO University.

The semifinal was held in two stages. Out of 300 teams taking part in the online round, 48 teams were selected for the on-site competition in St. Petersburg.

“Because of the online semifinal, only the strongest teams made it to the on-site round and the jury prepared even more complex challenges for the participants than usual. The competition didn’t run smoothly for us. In the end, however, everything turned out well and we won. Now, we’ll train for the finals!” Nikolay Budin shares his impressions.

The members of the Insert your name team will now compete for the victory in the final round of the ICPC World Championship. For their coach Gennady Korotkevich, this will be the first time he takes part in the ICPC final as a coach, not as a participant.
