Organization of educational and work activities

In accordance with the order, education at ITMO University will resume on Monday, April 6, and will be carried out completely online and using distance learning technologies.

Research and other activities will be carried out in compliance with measures necessary to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and also primarily online. The University will move the maximum possible number of staff to this work format. The measure will be in effect for the period of April 4–30, 2020.

At the same time, on-site work will be allowed for those employees whose presence at their workplaces at ITMO University is critical to ensuring the University’s functions, including maintaining the safety of its infrastructure. This category includes: the rector, vice-rectors, the chief financial officer, the chief information officer, and others.

The work of all staff who can’t work remotely will be organized in compliance with the established sanitary and epidemiological regime.

Measures to support ITMO University students and staff

Furthermore, the order establishes concrete measures to support students and staff of ITMO University.

The financial support committee will accept and process financial aid applications online from students whose families have temporarily lost income because of the measures introduced to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19). These applications will be reviewed at least once a month. More information will be available through ITMO.Students

Also, considering that conducting classes in a remote format through video conferencing platforms such as Zoom is more time-consuming than traditional offline classes, the University will provide financial incentives for faculty and staff who quickly organize work in the new distance learning conditions.
