Human nature means that we’ll always be trying to skirt the rules, but could AI prove helpful in mitigating the issue? And not by replacing humans, but by learning to identify actions that could have dangerous consequences. A new software model by researchers from ITMO aims to do exactly that – and it’s already being tested in real-life industrial conditions.

In today’s digital landscape, AI-detection software is quickly becoming indispensable. Noticing the lack of quality solutions for Russian-language texts, scientists at ITMO took it upon themselves to create a new model that detects AI-generated text with 94% accuracy – and can even suggest ways to make it sound less “machine-like.”

A brilliant researcher meets a business-savvy scientist – and the result is a resounding success. ITMO grad Anton Potsulin and his Peruvian colleague Silvia Caceres Chalco, both creators of the startup Qui9, have recently won a major startup competition in Peru. Their project earned a sizable grant to further develop its fast-cooking quinoa technology.
