Sing out loud

In St. Pete, choral singing has “officially” become a thing a couple of years ago – all thanks to the musical project called “Хор во весь двор” (roughly translated to “a choir the whole block can hear”) From all-time bangers to groovy rock and classic folk, the community leads singalongs at all kinds of venues: creative clusters, mansions, and even shopping malls. No singing skills are required and the exact songs are usually dropped on socials on the eve of each event.

Enjoy movies with a view

Movie theaters are good, but outdoor theaters are even better! Numerous open-air movie theaters pop up every summer and the choice is aplenty – bigger or smaller, seaside or downtown, in a charming park or a cool terrace, and, of course, mainstream or arthouse. Better still, these are usually free of charge, located at trending spots, and are open for all.

Dance all day, all night

As the day winds down, St. Pete turns into a high-energy dance floor – local dancers and performers hit wide-open and picturesque areas, such as embankments, squares, or parks, to show off their dance moves, teach everyone (beginner or pro) to move with the music, and simply elevate the spirits of all passers-by.

Find a club for your liking

You don’t have to keep your hobby to yourself; this is a great way to meet people who actually like to do what you do. New Holland Island, for one, is a true hub for communities. There’s a club for everything: art, music, chess, foreign languages, debate, and even philosophy – you name it! Club members meet regularly, typically biweekly. Some clubs have their sessions in English.

Get active outdoors

Summer is the time of the year to take your fitness routine outdoor. You can do that alone – or sign up for an open-air workout for a change of scenery and some extra peer motivation. Running, fitness, yoga, badminton, and even padel – there’s plenty you can try on while enjoying the great outdoors.
