The program’s goal is to improve entrepreneurs’ knowledge of the 5G field, and to support the creation of the products that are based on new-generation mobile communications. MTS gives an opportunity for entrepreneurs to prepare and improve their tech products in time for the commercial launch of the 5G network in Russia.

“MTS became a partner for ITMO University’s Accelerator because we are sure that for the successful development of 5G in Russia, there must be an alliance between the tech companies, startups, and universities. ITMO University is one of the leading universities in St. Petersburg that works with young tech companies. The specialists from MTS will work on the ideas of Accelerator’s participants before they become MTS 5G Center’s residents in order to help the entrepreneurs find an efficient way to apply the mobile communications of the fifth generation,” says Denis Panasenko, the head of MTS 5G Center.

“Our collaboration is about the development of entrepreneurship and technology in St. Petersburg. Today, 5G is a promising technology that is to be implemented in all spheres of life,” says Alexey Solomatin, the head of ITMO University’s Accelerator.

The participants will attend seven educational modules: b2b and b2c Sales, Secrets of a Good Problem Interview, Changing the Course to 5G, a No-Budget Marketing: the Best Digital Methods, Handling the Objections, PR for Startups, and Legal Issues. Each team will also have their own mentor.

“The cooperation between a university and a real sector of the economy is an important part for any university’s development. It’s always challenging to create a dialog between academia and business. However, as both sides are very professional, the process has been launched, and we are sure that it will provide all the participants with great results,” says Alexander Kolousov, the head of ITMO University’s Technopark.
