This whole month, my soul was begging for heartwarming sun-glimpses or otherworldly snowy nights and, sadly, wasn’t getting either. And what does a better job at lifting your spirit up than anything? Upbeat music for sure – and that’s what WallowsPleaser did for me. It’s a criminally underrated band with a youthful spirit and gorgeous rebel-like aesthetics. You won’t be disappointed! I swear this is my favorite song and not only because of the vibe and mood it gives, but also because of the melody and lyrics that make you feel a shiver down your spine every time you listen to this song. And don't let me get started on this godlike guitar intro that gives this fantastic but kind of moving, melancholic feeling like you’ve been there. Everything just feels so right, and, trust me, this song hits differently when you’re dancing in your room at 2 am.

TV is free, but what is the cost… We have GPS and yet, we’re still lost… Deep, right? Unfortunately, these are not thoughts of mine, but lines from Incredible Thoughts as performed by amazing The Lonely Island. Although the catchy tuneful chorus rocks really hard, it’s not a typical pop song. It’s a jab at all pseudo-philosopher singers, filled with genius puns from head to toe. This hilarious piece of post-ironic wisdom literally saved my blue November days (which I don’t even want to describe as it’s going to sound quite lifeless), making me unconsciously give my widest smile to passersby every time the song came on. Actually, among these layers of humor there’s a thing that seems to me true – our incredible thoughts can change the World!

This month has been a hell lot of trouble, and one of the important indicators of a terrible overload with work and life problems is the fact that I did not have enough time to LISTEN TO MUSIC. November tried to encroach on the sacred, so I am incredibly grateful to those people who keep sending wonderful tracks to me, and, thereby, pulling me back into the world of music - the most beloved of the worlds.

However, the album that saved me the most, I decided to listen to absolutely accidentally – although I love and respect the band that released it very, very much.

So, here it is: Idiot Prayer: Nick Cave Alone at Alexandra Palace – music that can fill you with delight even in Novemberrr.

Now, wasn’t it a gloomy month for all of us, buried under piles and piles of work and snow — which, sadly, never stayed for long. And the worst blow of them all was the constantly overcast sky. I am not even talking about the sun, this hope has long been abandoned, but when the night sky is only illuminated by the lights of the Lakhta Center... Well, that’s just wrong. That is why discovering We Watch The Stars in all of its hypnotizing slow-paced glory became my only true solace during these long November nights. One day, I will watch the actual stars come out to its meditative chimes, but for now — it’s good enough to be lost in the sounds alone.

There's always a song I hear for these season-changing moments when winter comes. The days become shorter, the nights longer, and the cold dominates for a long time. That's why I chose the song: Ain't no Sunshine by Bill Withers, a 70's American soul classic. As the song says, "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone, it's not warm when she's away ... And she's always gone too long" for me, this she represents the summer, the heat and energy that the sun gives us to live happier. I am clearly a lover of warm weather, but I have learned to say goodbye to the sun and find beauty in the winter, and what better farewell than from the voice of Bill Withers.
