Art Nouveau swept through Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and St. Petersburg was no exception. The asymmetrical whiplash line typical of Art Nouveau was manifested in art, architecture, metalwork, textiles, jewelry, and interior design. The St. Petersburg Art Nouveau exhibition at the Peter and Paul Fortress features Art Nouveau furniture, stained-glass windows, ceramics, clothes, and accessories. Come and enjoy the atmosphere of old St. Petersburg. The exhibition is open till August 14.
Art lovers should also check out the exhibition of high-quality reproductions of Vincent van Gogh’s works at the Etagi creative space. The exhibition is open till July 29. Entrance fee is 200 rub and includes access to Etagi’s picturesque rooftop terrace.
The Dostoevsky Day, which will take place on July 7 at New Holland, is yet another great event for those looking for some cultural experience. St. Petersburg’s museums, theatres and libraries will organize plays, concerts, cinema screenings, and workshops for both kids and adults. Entrance is free.
