• ITMO Highpark to Promote St. Petersburg Human Capital

  At the recent conference St. Petersburg of the Future – 2022, experts discussed the coming construction and development of several major research and educational clusters that will stimulate the growth of the knowledge economy and human capital in the city. Among the upcoming projects, ITMO Highpark was deemed closest to completion. In 2024, it will turn into one of St. Petersburg’s new points of development alongside the Yuzhny satellite city.

  Today, on January 25, President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with students of Russia’s leading universities from four cities – Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, and Nizhny Novgorod. Among them were four ITMO University students, winners of competitions in mathematics and programming. They discussed the importance of new educational models and environments with the president.

• Russian Government to Invest Three Billion Rubles in ITMO Highpark

  In 2021, the Russian Government will allocate three billion rubles to construct ITMO’s world-class research, education, and innovation center in the satellite city Yuzhny, Pushkinsky District. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the associated order on December 23. Another two billion rubles will be granted by the Government of St. Petersburg until the end of the year. The next round of financing is scheduled for 2022-2024.

• ITMO Highpark to Become Connected to St. Petersburg’s Water Supply Network

  The Vodokanal of St. Petersburg (the city’s main water utilities enterprise – Ed.) has begun the final stage of connecting ITMO Highpark to centralized cold water supply and disposal systems; as of now, the associated works are 80% done. As part of their efforts, the state utilities company’s specialists will install over 41 kilometers of engineering infrastructure.
