Anvar Zakhidov On His Collaboration With ITMO and METANANO Conference
In 2016, ITMO's Department of Nanophotonics and Metamaterials received a grant to launch the "Photonics and Optoelectronics of Nanostructured Perovskite Materials" research center. Anvar Zakhidov, a professor from the Texas University in Dallas, collaborates with Sergei Makarov from ITMO's Department of Nanophotonics and Metamaterials as head of its new Laboratory of Hybrid Nanophotonics and Optoelectronics. ITMO University Wins Grant on Developing New Decision Support System
A team of researchers from ITMO University won a Russian Science Foundation grant for developing intelligent technologies of decision support systems in the field of finance. The project will be headed by Janusz Holyst, a visiting professor from the Warsaw University of Technology. The project's goal is to create a cloud-based online platform that will become the basis for different services used by banks and other commercial structures. What's more, the research team will also create a public online service - with its help, Internet users will be able to assess the benefits of using different financial products based on individual criteria.

ITMO Scientists Receive Russian Science Foundation Grants
According to the results of the first three rounds of the Presidential research funding program, 504 pilot projects, 239 youth research teams and 31 laboratories have been awarded grants. Many of ITMO University’s scientists are among them. The winners’ projects are based on various fields of study: from smart city development scenarios to the creation of dielectric metamaterials with unique properties.

Erasmus+: How To Effectively Collaborate With European Universities
Erasmus+ is a EU program with a budget of more than two billion dollars, which focuses on supporting both individual students and researchers as well as whole universities, research centers and technological companies. ITMO to Receive 2 Million Rubles For Endowment Fund Development
ITMO University will receive two million rubles for the development of its endowment fund from Russian entrepreneur Vladimir Potanin. An endowment fund is a common source of funding for infrastructure, research, professors, students and postgraduates. This is not a common practice in Russia, but still, several contemporary university development funds are making use of it.

Young Scientists from ITMO University Receive Presidential Grants
On May 30, during a special ceremony, 53 young scientists from St. Petersburg's universities and institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg were given presidential grants. Alexander Boukhanovsky Elected to Russian Science Foundation Review Board
The head of ITMO University’s School of Translational Information Technologies has been elected as a member of the Russian Science Foundation’s review board. Together with the other members of the board, prof. Boukhanovsky will make decisions regarding funding for prospective scientific projects and review applications made to the foundation in the “Mathematics, computer science and systems science.” According to RSF materials, the review board is made up of esteemed, academically active and prolific scientists with a Sc.D.
