ITMO to Receive 2 Million Rubles For Endowment Fund Development
ITMO University will receive two million rubles for the development of its endowment fund from Russian entrepreneur Vladimir Potanin. An endowment fund is a common source of funding for infrastructure, research, professors, students and postgraduates. This is not a common practice in Russia, but still, several contemporary university development funds are making use of it.

Young Scientists from ITMO University Receive Presidential Grants

Alexander Boukhanovsky Elected to Russian Science Foundation Review Board
The head of ITMO University’s School of Translational Information Technologies has been elected as a member of the Russian Science Foundation’s review board. Together with the other members of the board, prof. Boukhanovsky will make decisions regarding funding for prospective scientific projects and review applications made to the foundation in the “Mathematics, computer science and systems science.” According to RSF materials, the review board is made up of esteemed, academically active and prolific scientists with a Sc.D.

ITMO’s Team Works on Impenetrable Data Storage Systems
Recently, a team from ITMO University won the Russian Federation Government grant on developing a system for operating a geographically distributed data storage and processing center that will make use of quantum technologies for protecting its communication channels. The project has yet no counterparts in the world. The project's initiator was the Smarts Company that deals in telecommunication networks and high-reliability communications services; ITMO University will conduct the R&D work.
