ITMO Rowing Club: Healthy Lifestyle and International Competitions
This fall, ITMO’s rowing club will be celebrating its third birthday. The level of competitions that the club participates in has been growing with each year of its existence. This academic year, it was for the first time that ITMO rowing team participated in student competitions abroad when they went to China to compete with 20 best student clubs from all over the world, and took part in the World Rowing Cup in Poland. In August, the team will also go to participate in a competition in Dresden, Germany. ITMO.NEWS asked the team’s members about the club's activities and the opportunities it offers.

ITMO’s Futsal Team Wins National Championship
Earlier this May, Moscow hosted the 10th Universities Futsal Championship. This year, 120 teams of 1610 students took part in the final round, a record number of participants for a student sports competition in Russia. The men's futsal team from ITMO University took the first place among 60 teams in the Silver League, while the university's women's team secured the fifth place among 40 teams in the Silver League. We talked to Vladimir Nakhratov, the coach of the university's futsal team, about futsal at ITMO University.

Bike Ride with the Rector: St. Petersburg Best Routes
Yesterday marked the eighth time when ITMO’s students, staff and friends meet with Rector Vladimir Vasilyev for a picturesque bike ride in St. Petersburg’s seaside district. This time, just like last year, the route started at the entrance to Primorsky Victory Park, went through the park, St. Petersburg Arena Stadium, Yakhtenny Bridge and ended at the 300th Anniversary Park. ITMO.NEWS asked the participants about their favorite bike routes in the city and their impressions of the Ride.

Zenit FC Fan-Club Re-Opens at ITMO University
On March 15, the St. Petersburg Stadium, also known as Zenit Arena, hosted a Europa League game between Zenit St. Petersburg and RB Leipzig; ITMO University’s Zenit FC fan-club and KronBars sports club took part in the pre-game Fan Promenade. Zenit Arena will now host a regular ITMO University area, while the university’s students can win tickets to Zenit’s games and participate in fan events.

Doing Sports Can Make One a Winner in Everyday Life: KronBars Meet Honored Guests
Past Thursday, November 30, ITMO’s sports club KronBars met with Sergei Boyarsky, deputy of State Duma and coordinator of the "Youth Group” at All-Russia People’s Front. Denis Goltsov, sambo athlete, World and European champion, native of St. Petersburg, also attended this meeting. He presented his project "Sambo to universities". Guests of "snow leopards" told students why sports can help young people set better goals and achieve success in everyday life. Denis Goltsov also conducted a masterclass on self-defense for all students.

KronBars Named Best Russian Student Sports Club Second Year In Row
Results of the competition for the title "Best Student Sports Club" were announced in Kazan on November 25 at the All-Russian Forum of Student Sports Clubs. KronBars, which recently came first in an all-Russian SSC rating, was recognized as the best student sports club in Russia for second year consequently.ITMO’s student sports club also won in two other nominations: "Best Awareness-building Effort" and "Best Organization"
