How I Represented ITMO and JISU at a Forum in China
As Coordinator of International Relations at the Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations (FTMI) at ITMO University and a current professor at Jilin International Studies University (JISU, China), I recently had the opportunity to participate in the International Forum on Impressions of Northeast China: The Local-Cosmopolitan Dimensions of Northeast China Culture, held in Changchun.

During my presentation, I addressed topics related to South American economic policies and how they influence the relations between China and South American countries. I highlighted the mutual benefits that can arise from greater cooperation and exchange between these regions. "China is not only flexible to change; China is now leading change," I told the audience.
Furthermore, I pointed out that people must be like bridges, connecting to foster a more enriching intercultural dialogue. I emphasized the importance of understanding the local and global dimensions of Northeast China's culture, as this is key to building effective collaborations and addressing challenges more constructively.

I had the opportunity to engage in fruitful exchanges with other scholars present at the event. We were able to discuss the efforts the FTMI International Projects Center (led by Iuliia Trabskaia) is making to strengthen ties with institutions in Asia, South America, and the Middle East in the areas of dual degrees, joint programs, and accelerator programs. I maintained that it is essential that universities and research centers work collaboratively at the international level to address global challenges.
Not long after that, I got the opportunity to represent ITMO and JISU at another international event. It was led by Director Song and Vice-Director Bai from JISU and Department of International Relations from MGIMO. Where professors and students from both universities discussed the role of BRICS in the global economy and how member countries can collaborate to address common challenges. I emphasized the importance of strengthening academic and research cooperation among universities in the BRICS countries, as this synergy can generate new development opportunities and foster knowledge exchange that benefits all stakeholders.
