Today, even the best AI software still struggles to process large amounts of data, especially when it involves analyzing documents – and even more so when it’s in a format like PDF. DocuMentor, a new processing library designed by developers from ITMO, promises to provide a solution to the issue. The open-source service analyzes DOCX and PDF files, identifies their structure, and incorporates their contents into a database.

When it comes to cancers, melanoma is among the most threatening types of the disease. What’s more, common treatments are imprecise and thus place an additional toll on patients. Natural compounds have shown promise in reducing chemotherapy side effects, but are difficult to deliver to the target cells. To make them more efficient, better “carriers” are needed – such as the new drug delivery system developed by researchers from ITMO and their colleagues. The polymer-based film has shown promising results in experiments and can also be adapted to carry other types of bioactive compounds.
